TYRES
We stock a tyre range from 12” to18”, for both cars and commercial vehicles. Currently, we have 250 tyres in stock and are expanding our stock to 400, before February 2015. When you purchase your tyres with us, we can offer you our 4 Wheel Alignment service on our new state of the art tracking machine which functions to include both 2 and 4 wheel vehicles.

WARNING SIGNS TO LOOK FOR ON TYRES :
The following are signs of wear that tell a story about problems with your car or the way you drive it. If you observe even one of these, then you need your tyre/s changed for safety and the NCT test.
- A lump on your tyre implies internal damage meaning its construction is compromised and urgently needs changing
- Wear can be seen at the shoulder of a tyre, on the middle, inner or side areas, where the thread is worn down
- Under-inflated tyres for load you will have wear at the shoulder
- Over-inflated for load you have wear in the centre
Other common signs of wear are thread distortion, sidewall cracking, impact damage, cuts and punctures. Coming up to winter especially it is so important to have your tyres checked and the depth of thread. Insurance companies can take a % off your claim in a car accident if they find your tyre/s are worn
CLUTCHES
A clutch is made up of three parts the pressure plate, disc and bearings. How you drive your car makes a difference to the life of your clutch. There are two main causes of clutch wear and tear.
- Driver error – which is keeping your foot depressed on the clutch for two long, called ‘riding the clutch’.
- Bearing malfunction – Leakage of hydraulic fluid can occur from the clutch bearing or concentric bearing.

WHEEL ALIGNMENT
One of the most common reasons for failing the NCT test is bad wheel alignment. Here are just some of the signs to be aware of.
WHEN DRIVING
- Notice that your car may begin to pull more to one side than the other. This is more easily registered when you are driving on a straight stretch of road.
SIGNS OF MISALIGNMENT
- Under-inflated tyres for load you will have wear at the shoulder
- Over-inflated for load you have wear in the centre
- Wheels may be splayed or high wheel toe settings means possible misalignment because of potholes and other impact damage.

DIAGNOSTICS
Have you ever wondered why a yellow or red light and different symbols such as engine or oil alerts suddenly appear on your dash? What do they mean? When they appear generally you need a mechanics opinion urgently!
DIAGNOSTIC TESTS: In the mid nineties cars were manufactured having a diagnostic outlet or socket. We access all working systems through this. We can offer you on request a report detailing what is wrong with your car.
DIAGNOSTIC SCAN: The time taken is aprox 25 minutes. Unlike many other garages, this will cost you only €20.

BRAKES
SIGNS OF WEAR: Have you noticed that you don’t stop as efficiently as you used to and your brakes feel weak? Is your handbrake travel taking longer when you engage to stop? If so, these indicate that you have a problem, which can jeopardise the safety of you and your passengers. Road conditions are always changing. Critical times are winter with ice, leaves, water and visibility where the need to brake occurs more often. Don’t hesitate to have your brakes checked by us if you have any concerns at all!

On occasion we get requests for cars. We have been in the motor trade a long time therefore we have direct access to an extensive range of car dealers. Indeed at times, customers ask us do we know anyone selling a car that might suit them. We listen well to what people need – make, price range, colour, engine size, petrol efficiency, safety features etc. Lady drivers often tell us they are at a disadvantage when searching for the right car to buy. We are sensitive to this and can advise you on your choices and offer you the best information on what cars will give you the driving experience that you require.

FULL VALET SERVICE
You can avail of a valet service from a wash to a full clean from bumper to bumper with us. The basic wash we offer costs € 6.
If you need a deluxe valet then we can call our tried and tested local valeting services which we highly recommend. Remember, any cars which are serviced by us are washed before they leave our garage!
BODYWORK
Sometimes, unfortunate things happen and car get bumps and scrapes. We can recommend a range of crash repair experts with confidence in the calibre of their work.
